Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Lead IA Network Engineering and System Administrator support to USNAVSOUTH/FOURTHFLT from the designated IA space during normal work hours (0730-1600).

  • Operate, secure, maintain, and repair network infrastructure, including:

    • 12 switches

    • 10 routers

    • 1 firewall

    • 5 video teleconference systems

    • 50 servers

    • 4 TACLANE encryptors

    • Additional network components as operational requirements dictate.

  • Anticipate 5% annual growth in network infrastructure.

  • Manage DoD C41 Systems, JWICS, CENTRIXS, and additional networks per operational requirements.

  • Serve primarily as a Network Engineer and secondarily as a System Administrator.

  • Support C4I systems such as ENMS Lite, DCGS-N (SIPR and JWICS), ADSI, GCCS-J, Radiant Mercury (RADMERC), and Video Teleconference (VTC) Systems.

  • Perform 10-15 weekly scans/patches and document/submit reports per DoD Information Assurance and Computer Network Defense guidelines.

  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Design network architectures per applicable DoD guidance.

  • Coordinate and document changes to network configurations and topology.

  • Configure and maintain 24 switches and routers; monitor network performance, perform diagnostics, and analyze traffic patterns.

  • Install and maintain software/hardware, control versions, and document physical configurations of information systems.

  • Optimize networks and systems, diagnose, and recover failed systems.

  • Install, configure, and test vendor-supplied modifications to existing systems software while adhering to federal security standards.

  • Maintain accountability of over 150 IT equipment pieces assigned to USNAVSOUTH/FOURTHFLT.

  • Provide customer support, troubleshoot complex problems, and minimize business activity disruptions.

  • Design and install network infrastructure, perform equipment reallocations, PC maintenance, and IT hardware maintenance.

  • Support SPLUNK Log correlation and management, ACAS scanning, WIRESHARK network sniffing, and MS VISIO.

  • Manage VMware virtual servers and workstations.

  • Perform additional related network engineering and system administration duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Information IA technology or related field.

  • Must maintain appropriate Computing Environment (CE) certifications for supported operating systems.

  • Certified as NSA/CNSS 1411 Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Professional.

  • Cisco Certifications:

    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Routing and Switching

    • Cisco Certified Network Associate - Security (CCNA-Security)

    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

  • CompTIA Security+ Certification.

  • Experience with Cisco ASA 5515-x firewall with Intrusion Protection System (IPS).

  • DCGS-N Block 2 Ashore maintenance training.

  • Radiant Mercury (RADMERC) Administrator certification.

  • Experience with:

    • SPLUNK configuration and operation

    • Cisco VTC operation and configuration

    • Cisco routers and switches (configuration, backup, and restore)

    • MS VISIO

    • ACAS scanning software

    • WIRESHARK network sniffing tool

    • VMware virtual servers and workstations

    • ENMS Lite training on BMC products

  • Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce requirements at a minimum of Information Assurance Level II Certification (GSEC, Network+ CE, Security+CE, SSCP, and all subsequent Level II certifications).

  • Ability to work effectively with Senior Executive Staff.

  • Must hold a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance.
