Data Analyst/BI Developer (AWS QuickSight)

The role focuses on enhancing and maintaining the analytics dashboard of our SaaS product. The candidate will work as part of a small, close-knit team of professionals, reporting directly to our lead developer and collaborating closely with the rest of the team to understand project requirements. They will primarily work on a multi-tenant web application hosted on AWS, utilizing AWS QuickSight for data analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and maintenance of data analytics dashboards using AWS QuickSight.
- Work with complex data models, including creating joins, foreign keys, and parent-child relationships in SQL databases.
- Understand and leverage existing data repositories to extract and visualize data accurately in QuickSight.
- Collaborate with developers to request necessary database views or modifications to support custom reporting needs.
- Create and customize dashboards as per client requirements, ensuring they provide insightful, actionable data.
- Assist in defining the story arc within the dashboards to present data in a user-friendly, coherent manner.
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis and generate reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Optimize and refine data reporting processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Communicate effectively with internal team members and clients to understand requirements and provide tailored solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  - AWS QuickSight: At least 2 years of experience in setting up and managing QuickSight dashboards and widgets.
  - SQL: Minimum of 4 years of experience with SQL, including experience in creating complex joins, managing relational databases, and understanding schema design.
  - Microsoft SQL Server: 3+ years of experience working with SQL Server databases.
  - SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services): 2+ years of experience in report writing and dashboard creation.
  - Data Analysis: Proven ability to interpret complex data models and produce insightful reports.
  - Strong understanding of multi-tenant web applications and cloud environments, particularly AWS.

Nice to Have:
  - Business Intelligence (BI) Tools: Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  - Data Warehousing: Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  - BI Background: Familiarity with Microsoft BI tools and methodologies.
  - Full Stack Development: Basic understanding of front-end and back-end development to communicate effectively with the development team.
